CANDIDATE FOR HD 133
Meet Will
Will Franklin is a native Texan, lifelong conservative, and successful businessman who has a heart for his community. At an early age, Will learned from his parents that honesty, hard work, and fiscal responsibility lead to prosperity. Like his late father, an independent oilman, Will has lived by these values and created over 2,000 Texas oil and gas jobs—the heartbeat of the Texas economy.
As a community volunteer, Will and his family walk the walk of their Christian faith by helping foster children and in-need families through mentorship and educational support. After Hurricane Harvey, Will brought together community leaders to create the Memorial Villages First Responder Relief Fund, which supports first responders who are victims of hardship themselves.
Will graduated from The University of Texas in 1994 with both Plan II and Business Honors Program majors and was a member of the first class of Dedman Distinguished Scholars providing a full academic scholarship. He started his career at Parker & Parsley Petroleum Co. (now Pioneer Natural Resources) in Midland in 1995. He then moved to Houston to work for Simmons & Company, an oilfield services investment bank, before heading to Harvard for business school where he earned first-year honors. He joined Riverstone Holdings at its founding before joining Lime Rock Partners in 2003 where he worked on both their oil and gas and oilfield services portfolios, both domestically and internationally.
Will met his wife, Liz, in his first week at the University of Texas. Liz is a former bi-lingual primary school teacher, including in SBISD, and has been a stay-at-home mom raising their two sons, Aidan and Josh. Knowing Houston’s culture and reputation for embracing outsiders who move here, work hard, and care for Houston; after living outside of Texas for eight years, they chose to return to Houston in 2005 and have lived in the district since 2006.
As our next state representative, Will promises to fight for our common-sense conservative values, secure the border, cut property taxes, and defend our freedom from liberal overreach.
